Founding and Early Years (1933-1940s): The Philadelphia Eagles were founded in 1933 as an NFL franchise. In their early years, the team experienced limited success, with one of their notable players being Hall of Fame quarterback Bert Bell.


1948 and 1949 NFL Championships: The Eagles achieved their first significant success in the late 1940s, winning back-to-back NFL championships in the 1948 and 1949 seasons. These championships were led by head coach Earle "Greasy" Neale and quarterback Tommy Thompson.


Chuck Bednarik Era (1950s-1960s): One of the most iconic players in Eagles history is Chuck Bednarik, a two-way player who was known for his toughness. In 1960, the Eagles won their third NFL championship, defeating the Green Bay Packers in the NFL Championship Game. This was their first championship in the modern NFL era.


The Super Bowl Era: The Eagles experienced a period of ups and downs in the following decades. They reached the Super Bowl for the first time in the 1980 season (Super Bowl XV) under head coach Dick Vermeil but were defeated by the Oakland Raiders. Super Bowl LII Victory: In the 2017 season, the Eagles achieved their first Super Bowl victory in franchise history by defeating the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII. The "Philly Special" trick play became one of the most famous moments in Super Bowl history.
