Welcome to the Summer Series of Culture Factor. I'm Holly Shannon. When I was speaking and interviewing at NFT NYC I noticed themes that almost every one of my conversations touched. This new Web3 digital space is made up of artists, collectors and businesses and when we stopped to scratch the surface, these underlying themes all pointed toward our most basic, fundamental, evolutionary need: connection. Over the next few weeks, I'm going to break down the whys, not just the whats, of this new digital space we find ourselves in. Season One was a study in company culture from the c-suite. I interviewed leaders in business, founders, entrepreneurs, enterprise and corporate heads about maintaining a healthy company culture during the pandemic. It was supposed to be 5 episodes but became an entire season! Why, because the pandemic has reshaped all business and the strategies used. Season Two introduced emerging leaders, authors, consultants and coaches into the conversation. As it became apparent that the pandemic wasn't going anywhere soon and company culture changed. Remote workers or work from home warriors became leaders overnight. We saw how they had their finger on the pulse of mental health, diversity equity and inclusion or DEI and the move to the Great Resignation. As I was about to look at Season 3 of Culture Factor I wanted to explore the Creators, gig workers, freelancers, entrepreneurs (they go by so many titles!). I also saw a burgeoning economy in Web3. NFT artists and NFT collectors landed in our world and the Blockchain, cryptocurrency conversations exploded. I felt that Season 3 needed to be an education in this space. I interviewed businesses and freelancers creating and breaking new ground. The how-to or step-by-step guide to understanding DAOs, WTF is an NFT, warm wallets, cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, blockchain, smart wallets, ethereum etc. I've been learning with my listeners and imparting some business strategy wisdom in the process.
