How to run a survivor pool
One team a week
Every player picks one team to win each week. A win keeps you alive. A loss puts you out.
Each team once
Once you use a team, it is gone for the season. Cross it off your player card so you never pick it twice.
Set the rules first
Agree on ties, what happens if everyone goes out the same week, and the pick deadline before Week 1. The tracker has lines for the first two.
Two strikes or a late start
Two strikes gives everyone one free loss. Starting late? Choose the start week and the sheet prints only the weeks left.
NFL survivor pool sheet FAQ
How does an NFL survivor pool work?
Each week, every player picks one team to win its game. Win and you move on to the next week. Lose and you are out. You can use each team only once all season, so saving the strong teams for later is half the game. The last player standing wins the pot.
Does a tie count as a loss?
In most pools, yes: a tie does not win, so the player is out. Some pools count a tie as a win. Decide before Week 1. The tracker has a line to circle the rule so nobody argues about it in December.
What happens if everyone is eliminated in the same week?
Pick the rule up front. The two common ones: the remaining players split the pot, or everyone who went out that week comes back in and the pool keeps going. The tracker has a line for this too.
What is a two-strike survivor pool?
Every player gets two losses before they are out, which keeps more people in through the middle of the season. Pick Two strikes and the tracker adds a Strike 1 column next to the Out column.
Can we start a survivor pool after Week 1?
Yes. Choose the start week and the sheet prints only the weeks left, through Week 18. With fewer weeks the boxes get wider, and the tracker switches to a portrait page that fits more players.
How many players fit on one page?
Up to 27 on a portrait page when 13 or fewer weeks are left, and up to 18 on a landscape page for a full season. Bigger pools split evenly across pages, so 45 players print as 15, 15 and 15, never one short last page. Rows never print shorter than a quarter inch, so every box stays writable.
