When a push happens

A push occurs when the result lands exactly on the number. Lay 3 and win by exactly 3, and the bet pushes. Take an over of 44 and the game finishes 24 to 20, and that pushes too. Your stake comes back and the bet is neither won nor lost.

Why half points remove pushes

A half point makes a push impossible, because no result can land on 3.5. That is the entire trade when you buy or sell a half point: you are converting the push outcome into a win or a loss, and paying or receiving price for it.

Frequently asked questions

What is a push in sports betting?+

A push is a tie against the number. If the result lands exactly on the spread or total, the bet is void and your stake is returned.

Do you win money on a push?+

No. A push returns your original stake with no profit and no loss. In a parlay, a pushed leg is usually removed and the parlay recalculated with one fewer leg.
