Arena Football One betting
AF1 is the highest-scoring football on the American calendar, and it runs all spring and summer while the outdoor leagues are dark. Here is how the rules change the numbers, and where the mispricings tend to sit.
BettorEdge is AF1's official partner and the exclusive way to bet the league. Lines are matched against other members rather than set by a house, so the price you take comes from the market. NFL lines and college football sit alongside it when those seasons open.
Why arena totals run so high
Eight players a side on a 50-yard field is the headline, but the rebound nets do the quiet work. Each net section spans thirty feet wide and thirty-two feet high, and a ball that comes off one is live and in play. Passes that would be incomplete outdoors stay alive, so drives stall less often and possessions turn into points at a rate outdoor football never approaches. Bring an NFL total to an AF1 game and it will be wrong by a wide margin, which is exactly why the number deserves its own model. The betting calculators handle the conversion math once you have a projection.
The scoring table
Two of these do not exist in outdoor football, and both matter to a total.
| Touchdown | 6 points |
| Field goal | 3 points, or 4 on a drop kick |
| The Deuce | 2 points if a kickoff goes through the uprights |
| Extra point | 1 on the kick, 2 on a conversion from the two-yard line |
| Safety | 2 points |
The Deuce is the one to internalize. A kickoff that sails through the uprights is worth two points, so a scoring event that is dead air in every other football code is a live source of points here. Drop kicks paying four do the same thing at the margin.

Where the edges hide
Rosters are small, so a single quarterback change is worth more here than an equivalent injury in a league carrying fifty-three players. The season is short at twelve games a team, which means small-sample records mislead badly in April and May and the market has less history to lean on than it does in the NFL. And because AF1 draws a fraction of the handle of the major leagues, the lines get less sharp money correcting them. A bettor who actually watches the games is competing against a thinner field than they would be on a Sunday in November.

AF1 betting FAQ
Where can I bet on Arena Football One?+
On BettorEdge. AF1 names BettorEdge as its official partner and the exclusive way to bet on Arena Football One, so the league's moneylines, spreads and totals are matched peer-to-peer against other members rather than priced by a sportsbook.
Why are AF1 totals so much higher than NFL totals?+
Three rules compound. Eight players a side on a 50-yard field means less ground to cover, balls that carom off the rebound nets stay live instead of ending the play, and the kickoff itself can score through the Deuce. Drives are shorter and possessions end in points far more often than they do outdoors.
What is the Deuce in arena football?+
The Deuce is worth 2 points and is awarded when a kickoff goes through the uprights. It is a scoring event with no equivalent in outdoor football, and it is one reason arena totals carry scoring sources a standard football model will miss.
When is the AF1 season?+
The AF1 regular season runs from April through July across roughly fifteen weeks, with each team playing twelve games and sitting three bye weeks. The playoffs follow, ending with the league championship, the Arena Crown.
Does weather affect arena football betting?+
No. AF1 is played indoors, so the wind and precipitation that move outdoor football totals are not a factor. That removes a variable, though it does not make the games easier to price: roster size does more work here than conditions.
How many teams are in AF1?+
The league's 2026 slate was built around ten franchises, and the Oregon Lightning were terminated during the season, leaving the nine listed on this page. Membership in a young league moves, so check theaf1.com for the current roster of clubs.
