Free Bankroll Management Spreadsheet
Size every bet with flat units or fractional Kelly, log the result, and watch your bankroll and drawdown update on their own.
One workbook that answers the two questions every bettor should ask before and after a bet: how much should I stake, and is my bankroll actually growing? Set your bankroll and unit size once, log bets as you place them, and the sheet keeps score.
What is in the bankroll management spreadsheet
Settings
Starting bankroll, unit size as a percent of bankroll, your Kelly fraction, and a hard cap on any single stake.
Summary
Record, win rate, total staked, net profit, ROI, units won, current bankroll, peak, current drawdown and max drawdown, plus ROI by sport.
Bet Log
One row per bet. Type the odds, stake and W, L or P. Profit, units, running bankroll, peak bankroll and drawdown calculate for every row.
Kelly Sizer
Enter the odds and your honest win probability. It returns the implied probability, your edge, the full Kelly stake and your fractional Kelly stake in dollars.
| Odds | Stake | Result | Profit | Units | Bankroll | Drawdown |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| -110 | $20.00 | W | $18.18 | 1.82 u | $1,018.18 | 0.0% |

How to use it
Why a bankroll spreadsheet beats a betting app's history screen
An app shows you a list of tickets. It does not show you how deep your worst losing run went, what your ROI looks like by sport, or what you should stake next. A bankroll sheet puts your own money at the center: every bet is measured against the bankroll you started with, so you see growth, drawdown and sizing in one place.
Flat units: the default that survives
A unit is a fixed slice of your bankroll, usually 1% to 2%. With a $1,000 bankroll and 1% units you risk $10 a bet, which means even a 20-bet losing streak, which happens to good bettors, costs about a fifth of the roll rather than all of it. Stake in units, record profit in units, and your record stays readable as the bankroll changes size.
Fractional Kelly: sizing by edge
The Kelly criterion sizes a bet by how big your edge is. At +150 (a 40% implied chance) a bet you truly win 44% of the time has a full Kelly stake of 6.7% of bankroll. Full Kelly assumes your 44% is exact, and it never is, so the sheet defaults to quarter Kelly: 1.7%, or about $16 on a $973 bankroll. A cap stops any single bet above 5% whatever the formula says.
Drawdown is the number to watch
Drawdown is how far your bankroll sits below its highest point. The sheet tracks the running peak and the percent below it on every row, plus your worst drawdown so far. A strategy that makes money but routinely sits 40% under its peak is a strategy most people abandon at the bottom. Knowing your normal drawdown keeps you from panicking or chasing during an ordinary cold streak.
Read ROI by sport before you change anything
Win rate alone misleads: you can hit 55% on heavy favorites and still lose money. The Summary tab splits staked, profit and ROI by sport so you can see where the money is actually coming from. Give it a few hundred bets before you cut a sport. Short samples are mostly noise.
Get a better price on every bet you log
Every number in this sheet improves when the odds you take improve. On BettorEdge you bet against other people at community odds with no built-in house margin, so the same pick at a fairer price shows up as higher ROI in your log.

Frequently asked questions
What is a good unit size for sports betting?+
Most bettors use 1% to 2% of their bankroll per unit. Smaller units let you ride out the losing streaks that every bettor hits without running out of money. The Settings tab lets you set any percent and converts it to dollars.
How does the Kelly criterion work in the spreadsheet?+
Kelly stake = (b x p - q) / b, where b is the net payout per dollar, p is your win probability and q is 1 - p. The Kelly Sizer tab computes that from American odds and your probability, multiplies by your Kelly fraction (25% by default), and caps it at your maximum stake.
Does the bankroll spreadsheet work in Google Sheets?+
Yes. It is a standard .xlsx file with plain formulas. Open it in Excel, upload it to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets, or open it in Apple Numbers.
What is drawdown in sports betting?+
Drawdown is the drop from your highest bankroll to where it is now, as a percent of that high. If your bankroll peaked at $1,200 and is now $1,020, you are in a 15% drawdown. The sheet tracks current and maximum drawdown automatically.
How do I log a push?+
Enter P in the Result column. A push returns your stake, so profit is zero and your bankroll is unchanged, but the bet still counts in your total staked.
Is this spreadsheet really free?+
Yes. The download needs no email and no account. You can optionally join the BettorEdge newsletter below the download.
