- New head coach in Ryan Beard (Missouri State Head Coach)
- New offensive coordinator in Nick Petrino (Missouri State Offensive Coordinator) and defensive coordinator in L.D. Scott (Missouri State Defensive Coordinator)
- Starting QB from last season is gone. Missouri State transfer Deuce Bailey is expected to start (335 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs)
- Starting RB from last season is gone, so backup Dominic Knicely is expected to start (388 yards, 3 TDs)
- Top player in terms of receiving yards from last season is gone, with the top returner being Robby Washington (278 yards, 3 TDs)
- No starting offensive lineman return with three transfers expected to start
- Returning four starters on defense, with the top returner being CB Ja’Marion Wayne (61 tackles)
