- New offensive coordinator in Mark Cala (UTEP Offensive Coordinator and QB Coach) and defensive coordinator in Jack Curtis (Auburn Defensive Analyst)
- Starting QB from last season is gone. UTEP transfer Skyler Locklear is expected to start (1,418 yards, 13 TDs, 11 INTs; 396 rushing yards, 8 rushing TDs)
- Starting RB from last season is gone, so backup RB Ramone Green Jr. is expected to start (278 yards, 1 TD)
- Top player in terms of receiving yards from last season is gone, with the top returner being Jmariyae Robinson (632 yards, 7 TDs)
- No starting offensive lineman return with 3 transfers expected to start
- Returning three starters on defense, with their top returner being LB Jared Lloyd (77 tackles)
