What changed for Texas State in 2026
- First season in new conference (Previously in Sun Belt)
- New defensive coordinator in Will Windham (South Alabama Defensive Coordinator)
- Brad Jackson returns at QB after a freshman season of 3,224 yards, 21 TDs, and 7 INTs, as well as 744 rushing yards and 17 rushing TDs
- Starting RB from last season is gone, so backup Greg Burrell is expected to start (671 yards, 3 TDs)
- Top two receivers from last season return in Beau Sparks (1,200 yards - 5th in CFB, 10 TDs) and Chris Dawn Jr. (1,007 yards, 4 TDs)
- Returning two starting offensive lineman
- 2025 PPG/YPG: 36.6 ppg (9th out of 136), 478.8 ypg (5th out of 136)
- Returning four starters on defense, with their top returner being S Ryan Nolan (79 tackles). Four transfers are expected to start, including McNeese transfer DE Phillip Bradford (5.5 sacks)
