- New head coach in JaMarcus Shephard (Alabama Associate Head Coach)
- New offensive coordinator in Mitch Dahlen (Alabama Assistant Offensive Coordinator and Assistant QB Coach) and and defensive coordinator in Mike MacIntyre (Mississippi State Defensive Analyst; Former Florida International Head Coach - 2024)
- Although starting QB Maalik Murphy (1,805 yards, 9 TDs, 8 INTs) returns, there will be a QB battle between Mercer transfer Braden Atkinson (3,611 yards, 34 TDs, 11 INTs), Western Michigan transfer Brady Jones (136 yards, 1 TD, 3 INTs), and him for the starting role
- Starting RB from last season is gone, so backup Cornell Hatcher Jr. is expected to start (292 yards, 2 TDs)
- Top four players in terms of receiving yards from last season are gone, with the top returner being TE Gabe Milbourn (185 yards, 1 TD). Two transfers are expected to start at WR in UT-Rio Grande Valley transfer Xayvion Noland (776 yards, 7 TDs) and Alabama transfer Aeryn Hampton (DNP in 2025; 4-Star WR in Class of 2024 per 24/7 Sports)
- Returning three starting offensive lineman that allowed 26 sacks in 2025 (T-81st in CFB)
- Returning five starters on defense, with their top returner being LB Aiden Sullivan (72 tackles)
