- New head coach in Charlie Huff (Southern Miss Head Coach)
- New offensive coordinator in Kevin Decker (Old Dominion Offensive Coordinator and QB Coach) and defensive coordinator in Lance Guidry (LSU Defensive Analyst; Former Miami (FL) Defensive Coordinator - 2024)
- Only one offensive starter returns (offensive lineman)
- There is a QB battle between West Florida transfer Marcus Stokes (3,297 yards, 30 TDs, 13 INTs) and South Carolina transfer Air Noland (2-3, 13 yards, 0 TDs, 0 INTs in one game played; Former four-star QB in Class of 2024)
- Colorado transfer RB Dallan Hayden is expected to start (326 yards, 1 TD)
- Expected starters at WR include returner Brady Kluse (240 yards, 2 TDs), Colorado transfer Terrell Timmons Jr. (58 yards, 0 TDs) and Southern Miss transfer Tychaun Chapman (448 yards, 3 TDs)
- One starter on defense returns in CB Chauncey Logan Jr. (13 tackles, 1 INT). However, all 12 projected starters are transfers, including Southern Miss transfer DE J’Mond Tapp (7.5 sacks), LB Michael Montgomery (105 tackles), and CB Ian Foster (76 tackles, 3 INTs)
