Temple went 5-7 (3-5 in the American). Here is what changed on the roster, the full 2026 schedule, and where they rank going into the season.
What changed for Temple in 2026
- Starting QB from last season is gone. Penn State transfer Jaxon Smolik is expected to start (No passes attempted in two games played in 2025; 3-Star QB in Class of 2023 per 247 Sports)
- Starting RB from last season is gone, so backup RB Hunter Smith is expected to start (403 yards, 2 TDs)
- Starting WR from last season returns in JoJo Bermudez (500 yards, 4 TDs). Stony Brook transfer Jayce Freeman is also expected to start (774 yards, 8 TDs)
- Returning four starting offensive lineman that allowed 20 sacks in 2025 (T-39th in CFB)
- Returning three starters on defense, including their leading tackler in LB Curly Ordonez (69 tackles). Two transfers are expected to start, including Lafayette transfer DE Jaylon Joseph (7.5 sacks, 3 FF)
