- Starting QB from last season is gone, so backup Julian Lewis is expected to start (589 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INTs in four games played)
- Although the starting RB from last season returns, Alabama transfer Richard Young is expected to start (64 yards, 2 TDs in 4 games played)
- Top player in terms of receiving yards from last season is gone, with the top returner being Joseph Williams (489 yards, 4 TDs). Two transfers are expected to start in Texas transfer DeAndre Moore Jr. (532 yards, 4 TDs) and San Jose State transfer Danny Scudero (1,297 yards - Best in CFB, 10 TDs)
- One starting offensive lineman returns with three transfers expected to start
- No starters on defense return with all 11 expected starters being transfers. Top transfers include Tulane transfer DT Santana Hopper (4.5 sacks), Texas transfer LB Liona Lefau (68 tackles), Bowling Green LB Gideon Lampron (119 tackles - 10th in CFB), New Mexico State transfer S Naeten Mitchell (93 tackles, 4 FF, 3 INTs), and James Madison transfer CB Justin Eaglin (5 INTs - T-7th in CFB)
