Utah are 1-0 in 2026. They went 11-2 (7-2 in the Big 12). Here is what changed on the roster, the full 2026 schedule, and where they rank going into the season.
What changed for Utah in 2026
- New head coach in Morgan Scalley (Utah Defensive Coordinator)
- New offensive coordinator in Kevin McGiven (Utah State Offensive Coordinator and QB Coach) and defensive coordinator in Colton Swan (Utah LB Coach)
- Devon Dampier returns at QB after a 2025 season of 2,490 yards, 24 TDs, and 5 INTs, as well as 835 rushing yards and 10 rushing TDs
- Wayshawn Parker returns at RB after a sophomore season of 981 yards and 6 TDs
- Top three players in terms of receiving yards are gone, with the top returner being Larry Simmons (280 yards, 6 TDs). Two transfers are expected to start at WR in Utah State transfer Braden Pegan (926 yards, 5 TDs) and San Jose State transfer Kyri Shoels (768 yards, 2 TDs)
- No starting offensive lineman return, and one transfer is expected to start
- 2025 PPG/YPG: 39.5 ppg (4th out of 136), 480.0 ypg (4th out of 136)
- Returning three starters on defense, including their leading tackler in LB Jonathan Hall (67 tackles)
