  • Starting QB from last season is gone. There is a QB battle between backup QB Cole Ballard (108 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT; 92 rushing yards, 0 rushing TDs) and third-string QB Isaiah Marshall (28 yards, 0 TDs, 0 INTs; 160 rushing yards, 0 rushing TDs)
  • Starting RB from last season is gone. Kansas State transfer Dylan Edwards is expected to start (205 yards, 2 TDs)
  • Top player in terms of receiving yards is gone, with the top returner being Cam Pickett (476 yards, 3 TDs). Two transfers are expected to start in Buffalo transfer Nik McMillan (981 yards, 3 TDs) and Middle Tennessee transfer Nahzae Cox (473 yards, 5 TDs)
  • Returning two starting offensive lineman with three transfers expected to start
  • Returning four starters on defense, including their leading tackler in LB Trey Lathan (86 tackles)
