What changed for Baylor in 2026

  • New defensive coordinator in Joe Klanderman (Kansas State defensive coordinator and safeties coach)
  • Only one offensive starter returns (Offensive Lineman)
  • Florida transfer QB DJ Lagway is expected to start (2,264 yards, 16 TDs, 14 INTs)
  • Returner Dawson Pendergrass is expected to start at RB (DNP in 2025 with injury; 671 yards, 6 TDs in 2024)
  • Expected starters at WR are returner Louis Brown IV (79 yards, 1 TD), Colorado transfer Dre’lon Miller (158 yards, 1 TD), and Oklahoma State transfer Gavin Freeman (481 yards, 4 TDs)
  • Returning four starters on defense, with their top returner being S Jacob Redding (53 tackles). Five transfers are expected to start on defense.
