What changed for West Virginia in 2026
- Although the starting QB from last season returns, Oklahoma transfer Michael Hawkins Jr. is expected to start (Only 2 games played in 2025; 783 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs in 2024)
- Starting RB from last season is gone. Jacksonville State transfer Cam Cook is expected to start (1,659 yards - Best in FBS, 16 TDs)
- All three starting WRs and starting TE are gone. Expected starters at WR are returner Jaden Bray (95 yards), USC transfer Prince Strachan (1 REC, 25 yards in 2025; 304 yards, 1 TD with Boise State in 2024), and Troy transfer DJ Epps (512 yards, 5 TDs)
- Returning two starting offensive lineman
- No defensive starters are returning. Seven transfers are expected to start, including Coastal Carolina transfer DE Zeke Campbell (5.5 sacks) and Memphis transfer S Kamari Wilson (84 tackles)
