What changed for Duke in 2026

  • Starting QB from last season is gone. San Jose State transfer Walter Eget is expected to start (3,051 yards, 17 TDs, 9 INTs)
  • Starting RB from last season returns in Nate Sheppard after a freshman season of 1,132 yards and 11 TDs
  • Top three players in terms of receiving yards are gone, with the top returner being TE Jeremiah Hasley (454 yards, 6 TDs). Two transfers are expected to start at WR in Pennsylvania transfer Jared Richardson (1,033 yards, 12 TDs) and Charlotte transfer Javen Nicholas (740 yards, 5 TDs)
  • Returning two starting offensive lineman
  • Returning four starters on defense, including their leading tackler in LB Luke Mergott (90 tackles) Florida State (5 -7 Overall, 2-6 Conference)
  • New offensive coordinator in Tim Harris Jr. (Florida State Passing Game Coordinator and WR Coach)
  • Starting QB from last season is gone. Auburn transfer Ashton Daniels is expected to start (797 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs; 280 rushing yards, 2 rushing TDs)
  • Starting RB from last season is gone. Texas transfer Quintrevion Wisner is expected to start (597 yards, 3 TDs)
  • Top two WR from last season return in Duce Robinson (1,081 yards, 6 TDs) and Michai Danzy (571 yards, 3 TDs)
  • No starting offensive lineman return. Four transfers are expected to start
  • Returning four starters on defense with the top returner being safety Ashlynd Barker (48 tackles, 3.5 sacks). Six transfers are expected to start.
