What changed for Virginia in 2026

  • Starting QB from last season is gone. Missouri transfer Beau Pribula is expected to start (1,941 yards, 11 TDs, 9 INTs; 297 rushing yards, 6 rushing TDs)
  • Starting RB from last season is gone. Tennessee transfer Peyton Lewis (290 yards, 7 TDs) and Middle Tennessee transfer Jekail Middlebrook (752 yards, 4 TDs) are expected to split carries.
  • Top four players in terms of receiving yards are gone, with the top returner being Kameron Courtney (234 yards, 0 TDs). Two transfers are expected to start at WR in UMass transfer Jacquon Gibson (616 yards, 0 TDs) and Kent State transfer Dashawn Martin (507 yards, 4 TDs)
  • Three starting offensive lineman return that allowed 18 sacks in 2025 (20th in CFB)
  • Returning five starters on defense, with the top returner being LB Kam Robinson (64 tackles, 2 INTs)
