  • Starting QB from last season is gone. Duke transfer Darian Mensah is expected to start (3,973 yards - 2nd best in CFB, 34 TDs - T-2nd in CFB, 6 INTs)
  • Mark Fletcher returns at RB after a junior season of 1,192 yards and 12 TDs
  • Top player in terms of receiving yards from last season returns in Malachi Toney (109 receptions - Best in CFB, 1,211 yards - 5th in CFB, 10 TDs). Two transfers are expected to start in South Carolina transfer Vandrevius Jacobs (548 yards, 4 TDs) and Duke transfer Cooper Barkate (1,106 yards - 9th in CFB, 7 TDs)
  • Returning one starting offensive lineman, and no transfers are expected to start.
  • Returning seven starters on a defense that allowed 15.6 ppg (5th in CFB), including their leading tackler in LB Mohamed Toure (84 tackles, 2 sacks). Two transfers are expected to start including Boston College transfer DB Omar Thornton (56 tackles, 4 FF)
