What changed for Oklahoma in 2026
- John Mateer returns at QB after a 2025 season of 2,811 yards, 14 TDs, and 11 INTs, as well as 431 rushing yards and 8 rushing TDs
- Starting RB from last season is gone, so backup RBs Xavier Robinson (421 yards, 4 TDs) and Tory Blaylock (480 yards, 4 TDs) will split carries)
- Top player in terms of receiving yards returns in Isaiah Sategna III (965 yards, 8 TDs). Two transfers are expected to start at WR in Virginia transfer Trell Harris (847 yards, 5 TDs) and Texas transfer Parker Livingstone (516 yards, 6 TDs)
- Returning four starting offensive lineman that allowed 29 sacks in 2025 (T-99th in CFB)
- Returning six starters on a defense that allowed 16.5 ppg (6th in CFB), including their top two leading tacklers in LBs Kip Lewis (76 tackles) and Owen Heinecke (74 tackles). No transfers are expected to start on defense
