- Top player in terms of receiving yards from last season is gone, with the top returner being Junior Sherrill (784 yards, 7 TDs)
- Returning one starting offensive lineman with three transfers expected to start
- Returning six starters on a defense that allowed 24.5 ppg (53rd in FBS), including their top leading tackler in S CJ Heard (71 tackles). Two transfers are expected to start on defense, including Clemson transfer S Ricardo Jones (6 INTs - T-2nd in FBS)
