What changed for Ole Miss in 2026
- Interim Head Coach Pete Golding took over as full-time head coach (former defensive coordinator)
- New offensive coordinator in John David Baker (East Carolina Offensive Coordinator and QB Coach)
- Trinidad Chambliss returns at QB after a 2025 season of 3,937 yards, 22 TDs and 3 INTs, as well as 527 rushing yards and 8 rushing TDs
- Kewan Lacy returns at RB after a sophomore season of 1,567 yards (3rd in CFB) and 24 TDs (2nd in CFB)
- Top two players in terms of receiving yards are gone, with the top returner being Deuce Alexander (684 yards, 2 TDs). Two transfers are expected to start in Syracuse transfers Darrell Gill Jr. (506 yards, 5 TDs) and Johntay Cook II (549 yards, 2 TDs)
- Returning three starting offensive lineman that allowed 19 sacks in 2025 (T-27th in CFB)
- 2025 PPG/YPG: 36.1 ppg (11th out of 136), 482.3 ypg (3rd out of 136)
- Returning four starters on defense, with their top returner being LB Suntarine Perkins (81 tackles, 4.5 sacks). Seven transfers are expected to start, including Baylor transfer LB Keaton Thomas (99 tackles), California transfer LB Luke Ferrelli (91 tackles), and Florida State transfer S Edwin Joseph (3 INTs)
